Exploring The wOw Events Carnival Market in Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 Foodie Nation

Foodie Nation

The Foodie Nation crew visits the wOw Events Carnival Market. Widely regarded as the ultimate marketplace for all things carnival, culture and cuisine, this annual event falls within a lineup of highly anticipated activities hosted by the wOw team, such as Soaka, Iron Park, Mecka, and Soca Brunch!

This year, the Carnival Market was hosted at Fiesta Plaza in Movie Towne Mall, Port of Spain, and consisted of three levels of family-friendly fun! There was a food zone, entertainment center, and the banquet hall was filled with vendors selling everything from Monday wear to shoes, hats, accessories, gift items, jewellery, desserts, bags, and many giveaways too!

During our visit, Shaun met up with popular clothing designer, Chandra Maharaj and Muhammad Muwakil of Freetown Collective. They shared their new collaboration that focuses on men's apparel, specifically shirts suitable for the fete season.

We also met up with Levi Marcus, another budding clothing designer known for his lineup of apparel that features Trinidad and Tobago in the logo. Lorraine O’Connor introduced us to her small business, Infuse Pure Therapy, and Clive Prevatt demonstrated how great ingenuity could contribute to saving the planet as well as crafting some one-of-a-kind lighting fixtures.

Just as the rains came down, we visited the food zone where we sampled some of the juice offerings from Blended with Love, a family-owned business focused on using local ingredients to produce healthy and delicious beverages.

Overall, the wOw Events Carnival Market is a must-attend event for both locals and those visiting T&T for the carnival season.
