Rhett and Shaun link up with KG @Talkswithkg as he takes them on a tour through his hometown: Arima, Trinidad and Tobago, for a small taste of what the Eastern town has to offer.
Their first stop was by Ms. Ann for her popular $10 Roti! Filled with curry potato, chicken or beef, and more, this Arima favorite is an absolute essential in the community. Next up, they visited soca artiste, Fireball, owner and operator of Firepott Cuisines, known for his hot and tasty soups filled with cow heel, chicken foot, oxtail, beef, ground provisions, vegetables and more!
While liming with Fireball, the crew bounced up the Pie Minister, a legendary street food proprietor from Arima, most notably recognized after being featured on Foodie Nation a few years ago. Of course, the Arima Dial was an essential stop on the tour.
The team then ventured to Thickies Soup Shop, not for soup this time though, but to sample her Stew Fish & Ground Provision. For dessert, the tour landed at JMK Delights for some classic homemade ice cream!
$10 for a roti in Arima....she go buss. It was $20 in St. James 15 years ago!!!
